Technical Questions:
1. So what exactly IS Counterpoint Music?
Counterpoint Music is a partnership of the Baptist General Convention of Texas and Discover Worship, offering a massive catalog of the highest quality music and drama resources, written and arranged by the best talents in the Kingdom, all for one low membership fee.
2.Who do I contact with questions about the website?
If you have any questions regarding the Counterpoint Music website, your bill, download credits, etc., please contact your representative via phone at (866) 859-7622, or contact us via the website on the Support page.
1. If I add payment information on your site, is it secure?
Absolutely. We've put all appropriate security measures in place to protect you against the loss, misuse, or alteration of your personal information. Think of us as Fort Knox.
2. Will my unused monthly download credits roll over from month-to-month?
No, each month's downloads will only last 30 days. Once that time ends, the download counter will reset so you'll have to make sure you've used them all by the last day. But, with an ever-growing catalog of 1500+ songs, we're pretty sure you won't have a problem using all of your downloads.
3. When do my download credits renew?
They renew on the same day that you signed up. So if you purchased your subscription on the 18th of March, then every month on the 18th, your credits will renew. You can see the date your subscription was created on the "Subscription Details" page in the My Account section.
4. I accidentally lost/deleted my song download. Do I have to pay to download it again?
You sure don't! Every time you download a song, you are give 5 free "backup downloads" to make sure you don't lose anything. Just go to the "My Downloads" section of your account to track how many backups you have left for each song.
5. My choir has grown in size. Do I need to pay you for more copies?
Nope. Every song provided by Counterpoint Music includes permission to make additional copies of the music, as your choir grows, at no additional cost to you. That way you can funnel more of your budget into what every choir really wants: silk hats that match their choir robes. Please keep in mind that you cannot make copies of the music for other churches or organizations. They’ve got to get their own!
6. I need more music each year. Do you offer other options?
We sure do. Counterpoint Music offers three different annual subscription levels to make our service as flexible as possible. If you decide that you need more songs, you can upgrade anytime and be pro-rated for your original subscription. You can even downgrade if you’d like but you'll have to until the end of your current subscription term.
7. Do you offer Christmas and Easter music, and when are they released?
We currently offer hundreds of seasonally-themed songs and that number is always growing. You can find a large number of individual Christmas or Easter songs, as well as several prepared Musical collections.
8. Do you offer orchestrations?
We have orchestrations available for some earlier seasonal music. The cost is $49.95 plus shipping and handling. Please contact our customer service department toll-free at 1-866-859-7622 or e-mail us at service@discoverworship.com for more information.
9. What is your copyright policy?
All music purchased from Counterpoint Music may be reproduced for use within your own church or parish. It's up to each church/subscriber to decide to whom to the account login information is issued. Only the following restrictions apply:
1. Your church may not share the music or content with other churches or parishes within your denomination.
2. Your church may not republish the music or content in any form for resale or redistribution.
10. Can I use a Counterpoint Music song on a church-produced CD for sale?
You can, and here’s how to do it:
If you wish to use a Discover Worship-owned copyright, you must send to us, in writing, an official license request outlining the song title, the title of the recording project, release date of the project, retail price, anticipated manufacturing quantities, and all other pertinent information. Be sure to include your complete contact information in case further information is needed. If accepted, an official mechanical license/invoice will be issued to you based on the statutory mechanical rate multiplied by the anticipated manufacturing quantities, unless other arrangements have been discussed. Please allow one to two weeks for a response.
11. Do you accept song submissions?
We do accept solicited and unsolicited material. You can send typed lyric sheets and a demo CD to the following address:
Discover Worship
2814 Azalea Place
Nashville, TN 37204
Note: Please only send copies of your originals as we do not return submissions. If your material is chosen for use with Discover Worship, we will contact you.
12. When does my subscription expire?
Your subscription will expire either one year from your start date. The subscription will renew automatically and charge you again unless you contact us to cancel.
13. How do I cancel my Counterpoint Music account?
If you want to cancel at the end of your term, just contact us by phone or email to do so. Please note that Counterpoint Music does not offer refunds.
1. So how do I listen to the songs?
You can preview every single song right here on the new site. When you download a song, it's delivered in MP3 format that can be played on your computer or portable MP3 player (iPod, iPhone, etc.)
2. Can I put these songs on CD?
Absolutely! You can use programs like Windows Media Player or iTunes (which come with almost every computer in the world) to easily create custom CDs using the MP3s you’ve downloaded from our website. Here are some tutorials on putting the downloads onto a CD:
3. Wait, wait. What is an MP3 and how do I use one?
Simply put, an MP3 is a computer file that plays a piece of music. You can play them easily in the programs mentioned before, or put them on a portable music player like an iPod or cellphone or whatever new doo-dad is the big thing this week. If you own a computer, the chances are good that you’ve used MP3s before without even knowing it. They’re just that simple.
4. And I can put them on a CD?
That’s right. Using a blank disc, you can put together a CD that will play in any normal stereo.
5. Is the sheet music included?
Absolutely. When you download a song, you will receive PDFs of all the tracks, charts, lyrics, and other files bundled together in one easy ZIP file. And you can still print as many copies of the sheet music as you want for your church music ministry.
6. ZIP file? What’s that?
A ZIP file contains several other computer files that have been compressed (zipped) into one smaller file for easier storage. When you download a ZIP file onto your computer, you can extract the files inside it (usually by right-clicking the file and using an Unzip utility) which will then place all the contents of the ZIP file into a folder on your computer.
